Our New Year by Admin

Our New Year London Open Day is going to be held on January 19th 2011 to kick-start the year and celebrate our 30th Anniversary!

 

The Apartment Service will be hosting breakfast from 8:00am through to 10:00am, followed by lunch from 12:00 – 14:00. During the evening we will be hosting a wonderful wine tasting that starts at 18:00 and finishes at 20:00   

 

The Apartment Service invites you to enjoy a full day of tasty bites ending with a wine tasting to kick start our 30th Anniversary celebrations... All in the relaxed atmosphere of our London apartments.

All Staff Focus Day by Esther Munoz Tong

We had our first “All Staff Focus Day” today - actually it had to be split in two big groups to maintain all our services running- but the general consensus was that it has been a very useful exercise and a brilliant platform to reinforce the Apartment Service short and medium term objectives, as is always easier to achieve these if everyone is kept in the loop at all times, to improve our internal communications, as well as to brainstorm and get feedback from everyone in the company who is in permanent contact with our customers.

None of us had any idea how much fun we’d have before we went in. I was laughing out loud much of the time at the hilarious chatting.  Not to mention that nice and buzzing feeling one gets of having been listened to after a work meeting.

TAS will continue to organise in person and online staff events once or twice a year. We hope that future events would provide us with the opportunity to further communicate, inspire and motivate the Apartment Service team.

Groveland and Watling Street Open Day – A GREAT SUCCESS! by Esther Munoz Tong

Another opportunity to meet our City based clients and a chance for our team to brag about our lovely serviced apartments in the heart of London. 

An ideal environment to put faces to names, to reinforce our business relationships, help our clients to familiarise with what’s on offer and experience the solutions that we provide for business travellers.

Not to mention, our increasingly renowned Wine Tasting session - the team at the Open Day assure me that it went down very well with our guests - this means a lot more fine wine and beverage events to come...

The Apartment Service Open Day at Plaza 21 in Swindon by Admin

The Apartment Service held its “Open Day” at Plaza 21 in Swindon on Monday and despite the cold weather it certainly didn’t discourage people from coming along to discover what we have to offer there.

 

We started with a buffet lunch served with hot Tea and Coffee to warm everyone up... Plenty of conversation was had regarding the history of Swindon and we found out that Swindon is in fact derived from two words “Swine” and “Dun” or “Pig Hill” - (Hill where pigs are bred). Wiltshire is famous of course for its Gammon.

 

Our Wine Tasting was a great success for everyone and the feedback has been very positive. Words such as “fun”, “informative”, “educational” and “interesting” have been used to describe the experience. We feel that wine tasting events are a new twist on a very useful exercise.

 

Our next Open Day and Wine Tasting is on Thursday 9th December in our Watling Street properties in Central London. If you can make it we will be very pleased to see you all there!

Your Home in Madrid by Esther Munoz Tong

As you may know, the Apartment Service has teamed up with a group of relocation experts in Madrid to offer a brand new accommodation solution in the heart of the gastronomic capital of Spain. One of our new business development executive, paid a short visit to Apartamentos Sandoval a few days ago, here are his thoughts:

The Sandoval Apartments were very beautiful and I enjoyed the local vicinity. I stopped at the local Carrefour which was very busy... When I heard a lady exclaim “mañana” and then left the store, I should have taken the hint but I decided to try the Spanish shopping experience. Which I can confirm was worthwhile as I picked up a very nice bottle of Rioja and some great food. It’s the little things in life.

The general area around the apartments was excellent and I can confidently promote the features, advantages and benefits of staying at Sandoval. I did manage to visit Opera, Callao, Sol, Gran Via and the Savilla areas... I loved the atmosphere and how accessible everything is in Madrid, so I’m looking forward to coming back for a longer stay in the future.’   

Enough said. Everyone in the office is currently firing emails to our Managing Director to find out when it’s our turn to “sample” first hand Apartamentos Sandoval in Madrid...

Monday 6th December - Swindon – Plaza 21 - Wine Tasting Open Day! by Admin

Our “Swindon Open Day” will be an amazing opportunity to view a selection of contemporary serviced apartments, in one of Britain’s historic industrial railway towns.

The opportunity to network and meet with clients on neutral ground is another advantage that an Open Day in Swindon has to offer.

 

From 12:30 The buffet lunch will help to tame your appetite before the real fun begins with the main event, which comes in the form of a Wine Tasting that starts at 14:00 and ends at 16:00. This will be a first for The Apartment Service and can be viewed as an educational exercise. If you happen to be driving you can still partake in the tasting – all you have to do is deposit the wine into the “Spitoon” which is a sobering piece of apparatus used by all the expert wine tasters in the industry, so don’t be afraid to get involved.

 

I will be taking you on a journey from Old World tradition right through to New World innovation.  Wine education combines History & Culture and allows for a deeper appreciation of what it takes to make great wine.  What I will really enjoy the most is hearing your personal opinions on the wines that we will share on the day.

 

I consider myself to be a wine nerd and not a wine snob.  As such this should be treated as a fun way to share some time in the relaxed environment that Plaza 21 provides.

 

We are very excited to be hosting this event and meeting with our guests in Swindon!

Our new client liaison manager... by Esther Munoz Tong

 Things are quite busy around The Apartment Service headquarters these days with several new employees starting over a two-month period. Christian Benoit is our new Client Liaison manager, he has joined the team to provide that extra bit of assistance that we felt was missing. 

Christian Benoit in his own words:  
‘As Client Liaison Manager my focus will be to act as the main point-of-contact for our clients once they are installed in their apartments. A good number of our guests live outside the UK and are less familiar with aspects of life here-and this is where I come in. I might be asked to recommend a restaurant, help with some travel arrangements or simply assist them with an issue relating to their accommodation. It’s really about making them feel that they’re being looked after, not just at the start and end of their stay with us, but during as well.

I have travelled extensively and lived in a number of different countries and have a passion for languages and cultures. I’m also mad about photography, food and wine and water sports. And yoga.’

Christian is fully fluent in French and Italian and his fantastic language skills have already been incredibly useful when dealing with our international guests.
